the concept was to propose a modern yet historically respectful renovation in a rijksmonument, built in 1750. the kitchen design at the rear, overlooked the courtyard between the two wings of the house. this design integrates modern functionality while preserving the historical ambiance.key features include opening up the lowered ceiling for more height and light, creating additional preparation space and installing new appliances that are seamlessly integrated. the aim is to transform the existing small and cramped kitchen into a spacious, functional, and visually appealing space that honors the heritage of the clients rijksmonument. additionally, we proposed to integrate the staircase seamlessly into the overall design, ensuring it becomes a focal point that adds to the charm and character of new colour pallete.
